Medals Awarded by Seventh Fleet Chapters

Grankite Order of Tactics

This order is given to those who have shown excellence in Starship Simulation Combat. This type of combat can be in various simulators, games or other competitions where tactics need to be used extensively. This medal can be recommended by a member of a chapter’s Senior Staff. Captain James T. Kirk had earned this award during his Starfleet career. See TOS Episode “Court martial”. Captain Jean-Luc Picard had also earned this award after developing the Picard Maneuver at the Battle of Maxia.  His certificate was seen in the movie “Star Trek Generations”.

Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry

This citation is awarded for outstanding leadership. It is recommended by the Commanding Officer of a Seventh Fleet Chapter. Captain James T. Kirk had earned this award during his Starfleet career. See TOS Episode “Court martial”.

Kragite Order of Heroism

This order is given to those crewmembers that have been wounded in the line of duty. This could be an incident at any various ship-sponsored activities. It is not given out for stupidity. If you were hurt for incompetence then it will not be given out. It can be recommended by a chapter’s Senior Staff. Captain James T. Kirk had earned this award during his Starfleet career. See TOS Episode “Court martial”.

Legion of Honor

This medal is given for out-standing performance within a department. This medal can be recommended by the Department Chief. The color corresponds to the department the crewmember received the award in. Dr. Leonard McCoy had earned this honor as seen in the TOS episode “Court Martial”.  Lt. Commander Data has earned this award during his Starfleet career. See TNG Episode “Measure of a Man”.

Star Cross

Star Cross – Forty Years

This is given to crewmembers that have been active in Starfleet Commands Seventh Fleet for Ten Years and never been on the inactive list. Leave of Absences do not count towards the inactive list but the LOA must be approved. This medal can be recommended by the Ship’s Executive Officer.  Before he retired, Captain Jonathan Archer had been awarded this medal.  See ENT episode “In a Mirror, Darkly, Part I”.  Lt. Commander Data has earned this award during his Starfleet career. See TNG Episode “Measure of a Man”.

Cochrane Medal of Excellence

Given to individuals who have demonstrated superior abilities in trivia or treknology. This medal can be recommended by the Commanding Officer of a Seventh Fleet Chapter. It is named after Zefram Cochrane, the inventor of Warp Drive. Ensign Harry Kim had earned this award in an alternate timeline. See VOY Episode “Non Sequitur”.

Decorated by Starfleet Intelligence

This is awarded to those who have demonstrated excellence in trivia while on a trivia team. This medal can be recommended by the team leader or the chapter’s Commanding Officer. Teams would need to be organized and authorized by the Command Staff for an official competition.

Decorated by Starfleet Military

This is awarded to those who participated on the paintball competitions between various groups. This medal can be recommended by the team leader or the chapter’s Commanding Officer. Teams would need to be organized and authorized by the Command Staff. The military ribbon that was used was the Air Force Cross with a red gem glued to the center.

Given to individuals who have commanded a mission at the Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center or on another similar facility. The CMSE is a Star Trek simulator built for educational purposes in an elementary school located in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Other simulators have been built in other educational locations and would count towards this medal as well. This medal can be recommended by the individual’s Commanding Officer after the mission. The pin is gold with a command star surrounded by a holodeck arch. It comes with a color-coded ring, which represents the total number of simulators the crewmember has participated in. White- 1 Times, Yellow- 2 Times, Orange- 3 Times, Red- 4 Times, Purple- 5 Times, Blue- 6 Times, Green 7 Times, Tan- 8 Times and Black- 9 Times.

Class of Excellence

1st Class

2nd Class

This is awarded to those individuals who achieved high scores on their first Academy Exam. 1st Class is for those who scored 80-100% and 2nd Class is for those who scored 50-79%. This medal can be recommended by the Command Grade Officer who conducted the exam.

Prantares Medal of Commendation

1st Class

2nd Class

This commendation is given to those individuals who have attended various Star Trek conventions. Attending fifteen Star Trek conventions will earn the individual the 2nd Class Prantares Medal of Commendation. To reach 1st Class the individual needs to attend 25 Star Trek conventions. It is recommended by the crewman in a special report listing the conventions they’ve attended. This list is then confirmed by the Command Staff. Before he retired, Captain Jonathan Archer had been awarded this medal.  See ENT episode “In a Mirror, Darkly, Part I”.  Captain James T. Kirk had earned this award during his Starfleet career. Talaxian Trade Medal

Awarded to members of Starfleet Commands Seventh Fleet who have provided extra-ordinary service during chapter or fleet fundraisers. Since we do not charge dues to join, various fundraisers can be organized throughout the year to help cover operational costs. This medal can be recommended by the chapter’s Commanding Officer.

This is the year medal that crewmembers can receive on their anniversary when they joined Starfleet Commands Seventh Fleet. The crewmember must have attended about 80% of the activities for that year to qualify. The pin comes with a color-coded ring, which represents the total number of years the crewmember has participated in the Seventh Fleet. White- 1 Year, Yellow- 2 Years, Orange- 3 Years, Red- 4 Years, Purple- 5 Years, Blue- 6 Years, Green 7 Years, Tan- 8 Years and Black- 9 years. The Tenth Year of service is represented with the Star Cross. It is recommended by the Chapter’s Executive Officer.
