Membership Basics

Hi_everybody

This section is a general section of different memberships items. Sort of a catch all to make sure that we’ve covered everything. If there is something that you think we may have overlooked, feel free to email your suggestions to Info@SeventhFleet.org

STANDARD DEPARTMENTS:

Provided here is a list of the different departments commonly found on Seventh Fleet Chapters. The Command Staff determines which departments are used on their chapter, and also assigns Departmental Assignments to benefit the ship. Contact the chapter’s Executive Officer for a list of assignments. This could help determine which department you may wish to join. Along with the list are some examples from the various Star Trek series that different personnel would be included in and the color of uniform currently used in the Seventh Fleet. Note: The duty uniform department colors for TOS and Enterprise differ from those used in TNG, DS9 and Voyager. The colors listed below are the Seventh Fleet Standard as assigned by Admiral Hollinger.

Command- Captain Kirk, Commander Riker (Red Uniforms)

Communications- Lieutenant Uhura, Ensign Hoshi Sato (Gold Uniforms)

Conn (Flight Control)- Ensign Wesley Crusher, Lieutenant (j.g.) Tom Paris (Red Uniforms)

Engineering- Lt. Cmdr. Geordi LaForge, Lieutenant B’Elanna Torres (Gold Uniforms)

Medical- Dr. Julian Bashir, Emergency Medical Hologram (Blue Uniforms)

Operations- Lt. Cmdr. Data, Ensign Harry Kim (Gold Uniforms)

Personnel- Lt. Cmdr. Deanna Troi, Lt. Ezri Dax (Blue Uniforms)

Science- Commander Spock, Sub-Commander T’Pol (Blue Uniforms)

Security- Constable Odo. Lt. Cmdr. Tuvok (Gold Uniforms)

Tactical- Lt. Worf, Lt. Malcom Reed (Red Uniforms)

Some may ask, why join a department? The primary reason is to give members an immediate point of contact. Sometimes a quick announcement may come up and it would be easier for the Commanding Officer to contact eight Department Chiefs who in turn contact their crewmembers. The alternative would require the Commanding Officer contacting 30-40 people in a short amount of time. For further information, see the Chain of Command section of the website.
