One of the many ways we get into the spirit of the 24th Century is to dress up in uniforms for special occasions. A Uniform-of-the-Day can be announced for different events by the Commanding Officer or Admiral Hollinger. The uniform requirement (for an event, not for membership) could be determined on what the occasion is. Several resources are available in the fleet to obtain a uniform (and you receive extra points for your first uniform). There are also loaner uniforms available for different occasions. On some occasions you can default to the next class of uniforms if you do not have the requested uniform available. Here is a breakdown on the different classes of uniforms from the era of The Next Generation/Deep Space Nine/Voyager and various movies. Other varieties of uniforms exist (Cadet, CO’s alternative, etc.) and can be approved by the chapter’s Commanding Officer. Regular clothing would fall under the subject of civilian outfits.
Note: While we have a lot of members who participate in different styles of cosplay and love making Star Trek uniforms/costumes, in no way is the Seventh Fleet a costume club. Also we do not have a uniform requirement until you reach the rank of Commander (and going up in rank is completely voluntary). If you need help with costumes or uniforms, feel free to ask.
