Summertime is here and this is the time when we can get a lot of reading done while relaxing or on vacation. If you’ve read any new Star Trek books, tell us about them. If you write up a review and send it to the webmaster, it could show up as a future blog post or even in a club newsletter. Speaking of new books, it was just announced that Jett Reno’s Guide to the USS Athena will be published in September of this year. It is good to see that Star Trek technical manuals are still catching the attention of Sci-Fi fans.
The 2026 Fleet Day is coming up quick on Saturday, July 18. The USS Ticonderoga will be hosting this event as part of their 30th Anniversary celebration. This will be held at the Weber County Southwest Branch in Roy, Utah. There will be both indoor and outdoor events. This is a family friendly event that is open to all members and interested parties. This is only one of two events that the Fleet plans for the year.
We are looking for a host for the 2027 Admiral’s Banquet next January. We are also looking for new locations to hold the banquet at. If you happen to visit a community center, banquet hall or other gathering location that you think could hold 100 people, please find the details and pass them onto your Commanding Officer.
The primary elections are currently happening across the United States. Did you know that if you voted in any election (big or small) you can earn Leadership Promotional Merit Points. And if you vote in both the Primary and General election, you will earn the PMPs for both efforts. We feel that participating in the community electoral process is worthy of leadership points because you help shape the future. Oh, just make sure you report them to your chapter as per their local reporting guidelines.
