Rank Tracks

Available Rank Tracks within the Seventh Fleet-

  1. Civilian – This track is intended for members who prefer to attend chapter meetings and activities without pursuing rank advancement. The personas used on this track could be family members of Starfleet officers, visiting ambassadors and dignitaries, scientists and researchers working alongside officers on joint missions, etc.
  2. Provisional Officer – Members on this track are assigned an honorary rank based on Time-in-Grade and do not serve as Chapter Department Chiefs or Command Staff.  The personas used in this track could be transferred members from other “fleets” such as Ensign T’Lyn of the Vulcan High Command or the Maquis members serving on the USS Voyager.
  3. Non-Commissioned Officer – This track allows members to earn rank through Promotional Merit Points and other requirements, without completing merit sheets, command tests, or projects. At the higher ranks, Commanding Officers can pull a member of the NCO track to serve as a Department Chief. Senior Chief Petty Officer Miles O’Brien of Deep Space Nine is a prime example of this track.
  4. Commissioned Officer – For members seeking roles as Department Chiefs, command staff, or future Commanding Officers of Seventh Fleet chapters.  This track is largely based upon the main characters we have enjoyed from the various Star Trek series.

Track Transfer Guidelines-

A recruit selects the Rank Advancement Track they wish to follow upon joining.  Will be noted with the application to the Fleet.  If a member wishes to change tracks, they will discuss it with the CO/XO of their chapter. Moving from a higher track to a lower track will be noted and reported to the Fleet.  Moving from a lower track to a higher track will require the member to complete any missing requirements before being accepted into that track.

Example #1: Provisional Ensign Jones wishes to move to the Commissioned Officer Track.  They have already completed Academy Basics Course #1 and #2.  The difference between the Provisional and Commissioned Ensign is 15 points in the four PMP categories.  Provisional Ensign Jones will need to earn the PMPs before being moved to the Commissioned Officer Track.

Example #2: Chief Petty Officer Smith wishes to move to the Commissioned Officer Track. They have already completed the required PMP points for the previous rank levels. Before being accepted as a Commissioned Lieutenant, they will need to complete the Merit Sheets for Lieutenant (j.g.) and Lieutenant as well as taking the Seventh Fleet Leadership Class.
