Meeting/Activity Alert: Multiple Chapters

Today there are two different chapters having meetings and activities that anyone can attend.

At 1:00pm the members of the USS Ticonderoga are getting together for a Klingon BBQ. This is an end-of-summer event. Bring your own meat to grill and a dish to share. This will be held at Central Park (address: 330 Center St, Clearfield, UT) main pavilion. There is a kids area just next to the pavilion for the young Klingons to use. The USS White Buffalo will be holding it’s monthly meeting at the Game Haven (address: 762 N Main St, Tooele, UT). This will start at 6:00pm. The club will be discussing the future fun events that they want to plan. Contact: CO@USSWhiteBuffalo.org

SLCC results and Utah County chapter survey

Runabout_NewsLog Entry: Stardate 68092.0, Rear Admiral Carl Stark recording.  We had a ton of response from our Salt Lake Comic Con booth.  We raised some money for HopeKids of Utah (which they said Thank You).  We also had a lot of people sign up for more information about the club.  If we could read your handwriting (some of them were a little difficult) you should be hearing something soon from a nearby chapter.  We would like to thank the SS White Buffalo for running the Artemis Bridge Simulator and all of the volunteers who came out to help sell club t-shirts (still on sale) and promote the Seventh Fleet.  We look forward to next Septembers Salt Lake Comic Con and thank all of the volunteers who helped put the event together.

Once again we had a large number of fans ask about a Utah County chapter.  Currently at this time we do not have a chapter in that area, yet.  Usually a new chapter is started when a member of an existing chapter moves to the new area and starts a chapter-in-training (also known as a Runabout) or if an existing club applies to become a chapter of the Seventh Fleet.  However to our knowledge there is no Utah County only club and we have not been informed of anyone getting ready to move.  Luckily thanks to our friends on the SS White Buffalo in Tooele, we do have an option for a nearby area that wants a chapter.  Right now what we are doing is conducting a survey.  If you live in Utah County and would be willing to participate in an exploratory meeting about starting a local chapter, please contact us at Join@SeventhFleet.org

If there is enough interest we can schedule the meeting and see what options we can do to start a new branch of our Star Trek family in the Utah County area.

Happy Anniversary to the USS Ticonderoga

Starship_newsLog Entry: Stardate 67030.9, Rear Admiral Carl Stark recording. On March 9, 1996, several Star Trek fans got together at the Davis County North Library in Clearfield and started the club that would eventually become the USS Ticonderoga.  This first club was called the Runabout USS Euphrates, a Chapter-in-Training off of the USS Kelly in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The Euphrates completed it’s mission on October 25, 1997 and was launched as the full chapter, the Intrepid-Class USS Ticonderoga.  The Ticonderoga is one of the founding chapters of Starfleet Command’s Seventh Fleet when it launched on January 1, 1998.  Because the Ticonderoga crew was proud of it’s time as a chapter-in-training, the club celebrates the anniversary of it’s club founding every year.

The Seventh Fleet would like to congratulate the staff and members of the Ticonderoga for running 18 years as a Star Trek family.  Tally Ho
