Meeting/Activity Alert: Multiple Chapters

The USS Delaware will be holding it’s monthly meeting at 2:00pm at the Salt Lake County Complex (2101 South State St., Salt Lake City, UT). This month will be the White Targ party. Check in with the guards at the North building and the meeting is on the second floor. Contact: USSDelaware@SeventhFleet.org

In Logan the USS Rendezvous will be holding their monthly meeting just before the weekly game night. This is usually at 7:00pm. The location changes depending upon which member wishes to host the game. Contact the CO at USSRendezvous@gmail.com for details.

Activity Alert: Multiple Chapters

At 6:30pm the USS Pulsar will be holding a Christmas party at the home of a member in Orem. Bring a favorite treat to share (no main dishes). There will be various games played at this event. Contact: USSPulsar@SevethFleet.org

Members of the USS Kelly will be meeting at the IHOP in Murray ( 5277 S. State St) at 7:00pm for a Christmas Dinner on Saturday December 14th. There will be a gift exchange ($10 limit if purchased). Contact: USSKelly@SeventhFleet.org

Meeting Alert: USS Ticonderoga

The USS Ticonderoga will be holding a meeting Wednesday, December 11th at the Weber County Library- Southwest Branch (2039 West 4000 South, Roy, UT). There is a social gathering at 6:30pm with the meeting starting at 7:00pm. Many members bring an item for a Star Trek/Sci-Fi Show-n-Tell. For the December meeting they will also be participating in a White Elephant style gift exchange. A purchased gift should not be more than $10.

Trek of the Month: December 2019

While it may be the end of the year, we’ve decided to make the theme for the Trek of the Month the firsts. With the first movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary this month, we wanted to honor it. So here are some firsts episodes created for Star Trek.

TOS: The Cage (The first episode produced for Star Trek)
TAS: Beyond the Farthest Star (The first animated series episode)
TMS: Star Trek: The Motion Picture (This first movie is celebrating its 40 year anniversary)
TNG: Encounter at Farpoint (The pilot episode for The Next Generation)
DS9: Emissary (This episode introduced us to Deep Space Nine)
Voy: Caretaker (The Voyager gets stranded in this first episode of the series)
Ent: Broken Bow (Welcome Archer and company to the series)
DSC: The Vulcan Hello (Pilot episode for Star Trek Discovery)
Other Trek: Trekkies (The first of two documentaries released in theaters about Star Trek fans)

Members of the USS Ticonderoga will be meeting at the Layton Hills Mall at 2:00pm. There is a combat arena called Dartside where opponents can shoot each other with a nerf-like dart gun. Some members may be meeting at the food court at 1:00pm for lunch before the event. Contact: Info@USSTiconderoga.org

The USS White Buffalo will be holding it’s monthly meeting at the Game Haven (address: 762 N Main St, Tooele, UT) on October 26th. This will start at 6:00pm. The club will be discussing the future fun events that they want to plan. Contact: CO@USSWhiteBuffalo.org

November 16th is going to be busy for a variety of events and meetings. So lets get started.

Hastur Games (located at 6831 South State Street in Midvale) will be holding it’s annual Toys for Tots drive. This will be a cosplay charity event that needs some Star Trek cosplay. This event will run from 11:00am to 6:00pm.

Trek of the Month: November 2019

So after our first month of having a joint viewing schedule, we’ve decided to continue the fun. These are episodes and movies that you can select to watch as your schedule will allow. At the end of the month we will ask you for your thoughts on what you watched for a future blog post.

November is the time for Thanksgiving. It is a time that we think about what we are thankful for as we gather as a family and enjoy a good meal. Sometimes we eat a lot at this event, just like Tribbles. Thus the Tribbles are the theme for this month.
