Summer is finally here and it couldn’t have come any sooner. The warm weather beckoning us outside with friends and bar-be-ques and fun all around. And speaking of fun, make sure you plan to attend the upcoming Fleet Day (aka The Seventh Fleet Games) on Saturday, August 7th. It will be hosted by the USS Ticonderoga in Clearfield, Utah. This is like a Star Trek family reunion.

It was good to see everyone at the Seventh Fleet Picnic on April 26th. If you missed it, don’t worry. Fleet Day (aka The Seventh Fleet Games) will be hosted by the USS Ticonderoga in Clearfield on Saturday, August 7th. There are several fun events planned. Get a hold of your Commanding Officer and let them know that you want to attend.

Congratulations To:
Captain Nada Linnarz has moved to St. George, Utah. Which unfortunately is too far to remain the CO of the USS Kelly. Lt. Commander Jill Bogler-Patterson and Lt. Commander Dawn Woods have accepted the position of Acting-Captain and Acting-Executive Officer. Congratulations to the new command staff and best of Luck Captain Linnarz in Southern Utah.

No fooling, we have reached April. Hopefully, if everyone continues to follow the health guidelines, we can get together for a Seventh Fleet Picnic on the 24th of this month. Location to be announced. We do know that everyone will be bringing their own lunch and that some distances may still be maintained. But we would like to see everyone. As one Captain told me in March, we are sociable creatures by habit and we need to see our friends.

Farewell Rene Auberjonois (1940-2019)

“Another glorious chapter of Klingon history. Tell me, do they still sing songs of the great Tribble hunt?” Odo- Trials and Tribble-ations, Stardate: 4523.7

Starfleet Command’s Seventh Fleet is saddened to learn that Rene Auberjonois passed away on December 8, 2019 due to lung cancer. Most Star Trek fans know that he played Constable Odo on Deep Space Nine. Rene also played Colonel West in the movie Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and Ezra in the Enterprise episode Oasis.

Our thoughts are with the Auberjonois family at this time.

Roles of Aron Eisenberg.

Starfleet Command’s Seventh Fleet is saddened to learn that Star Trek actor Aron Eisenberg suddenly passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Many of us fondly remember him as the character Nog on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He took a character that seemed relatively minor at the start of the series, and turned him into one of the members of the DS9 family. There are many great moments in DS9 where Aron’s acting sparkled like a diamond. Rest in peace Aron.
