We had a great Fleet Day 2023 last month. Many thanks to the crew of the USS Pulsar for putting on a great event. This is basically our summer reunion for our Star Trek family and every chapter was represented. Don’t worry, if you missed out the USS White Buffalo will be hosting the 2024 Fleet Day next year.

FanX: The Salt Lake Comic Convention is quickly approaching. We will have a booth coordinated by the USS Valkyrie and the USS White Buffalo will be running the Artemis bridge simulator at the con. Both sections are in need of volunteers. If you are able to help out, please contact your commanding officer. This convention will be held at the Salt Palace on September 21-23.

When the call goes out to Star Trek fandom, the fans responds in droves. As most of you may have heard, the future of Star Trek: Prodigy is up in the air right now. If you haven’t watched this show, it may have already been pulled off of Paramount+. You can still get the disks from Amazon by following this link. There has also been a #SaveStarTrekProdigy petition started at Change.org that you can sign at this link. Talk about the show on social media with the hashtag and sign the petition. It has been a great show that has contributed to the Star Trek universe.

Science fiction author Peter David has written several Star Trek novels and comics. We’ve had the opportunity to meet him at FanX: The Salt Lake Comic Convention. Unfortunately he has been experiencing several compounding health issues, which unfortunately have lead to several medical bills. There has been a GoFundMe set up for him and we would like to encourage anyone who can to donate.

We’ve only experienced three episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season two, but they have been AH-Maze-ing. The episodes have only continued to get better.

So the 2023 Admiral’s Banquet was a great success. If you missed it, you missed some good food and some good times with friends. We had a chance to watch a special video from Friend of the Fleet, Larry “Dr. Trek” Nemecek congratulating the members for making it to 25 years as a Star Trek club. Many thanks to the members of the USS Valkyrie for putting together the wonderful pasta bar that we all enjoyed. Captain Ann Knowlton ran another successful silent auction and we want to thank the City of Richmond for use of their wonderful facility. The USS Kelly is hosting the 2024 Admiral’s Banquet which is tentatively planned for Saturday, January 27th. They are already working on the plans for this event.

And speaking of the Seventh Fleet 25th Anniversary, we are celebrating all year long. At the banquet we had a presentation giving us the different challenges that we are all participating in for 25th Anniversary Bingo. This was inspired by the Enterprise Bingo seen on the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episode “Spock Amok“. To find out the details, head over to our special page located at Bingo.SeventhFleet.org. There you can see the explanations of the different challenges and how you can get credit for doing them. Don’t forget, if you post them to social media, use the hashtags of #7thFleet25 and #WeDoNotStandAlone.

The crew of the USS Kelly are making plans to attend the Las Vegas Star Trek convention coming up on August 3-6. Details are still being worked out, but they would like to extend an invitation to go with them.

The release date for season three of Star Trek: Picard is Thursday, February 16th. The latest trailers have come out and several Seventh Fleet members are really interested in watching the final season.

Welcome to the year 2023. It is a time of excitement as the new year brings a chance for new opportunities. We are saddened by the recent lost of Captain Roger Taylor, but we are looking forward to getting together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of Starfleet Command’s Seventh Fleet.

The 2023 Admiral’s Banquet will be held on Saturday, January 28th at the Richmond City building in Richmond, Utah. This uniformed (or nice dressed) event will start at Noon and is being hosted by the USS Valkyrie. We will be holding a memorial and gathering for photos. Chapters will present reports and music videos. This is a special event for members and their plus ones to gather and celebrate our Star Trek family.

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary, the Seventh Fleet will be planing a variant of Enterprise Bingo seen on the Star Trek: Strange New World episode “Spock Amok“. This yearlong event has twelve challenges with the titles listed below. If you complete five of the challenges, you will earn a BINGO. If you complete all twelve then you will earn a Blackout. You can complete one of the challenges by taking a photo with you doing the challenge. This can be sent/shown to your Commanding Officer, emailed to Bingo@SeventhFleet.org or posted on social media with the hashtag #7thFleet25 and #WeDoNotStandAlone. There will be a separate blog post with additional details.

Admiral’s Banquet and a special surprise

A prototype of the new Seventh Fleet Annual.

This Saturday, March 26th, is one of two annual fleet events. The Admiral’s Banquet. This is where the Admiralty gets to acknowledge the efforts that the members put into the chapters and fleet. The USS Rendezvous is hosting the event at the Richmond City Center (were we have held past banquets) with a starting time of Noon. Please note the change in time because we’ve usually started at 2:00pm in the past.

The USS Rendezvous will be serving a Taco Bar for the meal. However they stated that they would not be insulted if you bring your own food because of dietary/taste reasons. There is no charge for the food, but a tip jar will be set up to help for those that wish to help out.

There will also be a silent auction available with items donated by various chapters in the Seventh Fleet. This will be cash only as per the organizer. There will also be various videos created by the chapters.

This is a nice dress or uniformed event. We will also be taking group photos at the banquet.

New this year we have a special surprise. As you can see from the photo above, we now have a prototype issue of the Seventh Fleet Annual. This fanzine is a “Best Of” featuring selected articles and artwork from various chapter newsletters and blogs and comes in at a 136 pages. Come check it out at the banquet. We will be gauging interest in this publication.

It’s been a very long time since we’ve held the Admiral’s Banquet in person. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Hailing Frequencies Open August 2021

August is here and it brings the close of summer before school starts. The members of the Seventh Fleet Council (the Admiralty, Commanding Officers and Executive Officers) have been working on various projects for our Star Trek family. Upcoming publications, a fan club booth at FanX, chapter banners, club awards and more. A lot of work goes into this club. It may look easy on the outside, but a lot time, energy and effort. Your help can make this club a better one. Even little things like helping with a newsletter or a website will go a long way in making your chapter a better one. If you would like to take some ownership within the club, please contact your department chief or executive officer.

We are getting very close to Fleet Day on August 7th. This will be held at Barlow Park in Clearfield, Utah. It is recommended that you bring water, folding chairs and sunscreen. We are looking forward to seeing members of our Star Trek family after the events (or lack there of) from the past year. This is one of our big fun events of the year.

Several theaters are airing a 35th Anniversary showing of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home on August 19th. So far we know that the Megaplex Theaters and the AMC Theaters are hosing airings. A quick google search should give your information on airings near your location.

The USS Kelly will be holding a 35th Anniversary party on Saturday, September 6th at Murray Park. Come celebrate the longest running Star Trek fan club in Utah.

The USS Pulsar officially launched last year, however events (that we are all aware of) prevented an official launching ceremony. This will be rectified on Saturday, September 11th.

No fooling, we have reached April. Hopefully, if everyone continues to follow the health guidelines, we can get together for a Seventh Fleet Picnic on the 24th of this month. Location to be announced. We do know that everyone will be bringing their own lunch and that some distances may still be maintained. But we would like to see everyone. As one Captain told me in March, we are sociable creatures by habit and we need to see our friends.

Communication interruption resolved. ship is back under human control.

Staff of family.  Mr Hnack has restored the site, communications has been interrupted over the past week to in infestation of Klingon Malware.  As a reminder to protect the integrity of our site, use complex passwords, do not share, change passwords etc. Most of all bring any issues to Mr Stark or myself a quickly as possible.
The previous webhost is no longer doing business with us, I have found a trusted source that speaks human, is local to our region and was quick to assist in moving all website content.

We are online once again. Live long, and I-Sci-Fi, do you ?
